What Ilekun does

The skills are there. Access isn't always equal.

  1. The barrier

A fee between you and the credential

A person's ability to grow should not be limited by the cost of demonstrating what they know. For many aspiring technology professionals, certification exam fees can become a significant obstacle.

  2. Our response

We help cover the exam fee

Ilekun aims to help eligible applicants cover approved technology certification exam fees, beginning with Salesforce certifications.

By addressing this specific financial barrier, Ilekun hopes to make recognised credentials more accessible to people who need support.

  3. The opportunity

    A step toward what's next

A recognised certification can be one step in a person's professional journey. Ilekun wants to help people take that step and explore the opportunities that may follow.

Over time, Ilekun hopes to explore additional support, including study groups, learning resources, and connections to professional opportunities.

Good to know

To apply, you must be 18 or older. Applicants from any country are welcome. The programme is for people whose monthly income is below the minimum wage in their country, or whose total income over the last two months is below US$300 (or the equivalent in their currency).

Ilekun aims to help people who face financial barriers to pursuing recognised technology certifications. Applicants should have a clear reason for pursuing the certification and be able to explain how it supports their learning or career goals.

Eligibility depends on the programme's approved criteria, the certification requested, and available funding. Meeting these general conditions does not guarantee assistance.

Ilekun is a nonprofit initiative working to make technology certifications more accessible to people who cannot afford the examination fees. We aim to help eligible individuals take meaningful steps towards opportunities in technology.

Our initial focus is supporting certification examination fees, starting with Salesforce certifications. We plan to add other providers, such as ServiceNow and AWS, later. As the initiative grows, we hope to introduce additional learning opportunities, study groups, and connections to potential employers.

Ilekun is intended for individuals who are interested in earning recognised technology certifications but face financial barriers to paying for their examinations.

To apply, you must be 18 or older. Applicants from any country are welcome. The programme is for people whose monthly income is below the minimum wage in their country, or whose total income over the last two months is below US$300 (or the equivalent in their currency).

Our initial programme focuses on helping eligible applicants cover certification examination fees. Study groups, training opportunities, and other learning resources may be introduced in the future as the initiative develops.

No. Ilekun aims to reduce financial barriers to earning technology certifications, but receiving support does not guarantee certification success, employment, or a particular career outcome.

Applications open in rounds, and the next round isn't open yet. When it opens, you'll complete the application form on this website and provide the requested information. We'll review applications according to the programme's eligibility criteria.

Applications will be reviewed based on the programme's eligibility requirements, the information provided, and the availability of funding. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.

Every application is reviewed by the Ilekun team. We don't set a fixed timeline, but we'll get back to you as soon as the team has decided on this round's recipients.

Yes, beginners may be eligible if they meet the programme's requirements. Applicants should review the relevant certification requirements and ensure they are prepared for the examination they intend to take.
